What should you do if the electric motor won’t start?

First, verify that the power supply is functioning properly and that the voltage meets the rated value. Next, inspect the wiring for looseness or open circuits. Then, check the motor interior for any mechanical binding or bearing damage. If the power supply is normal and there is no mechanical obstruction, the fault may lie in the start capacitor or the windings, which will require inspection and replacement.

What causes unusual noises during motor operation?

Abnormal noises may be caused by bearing wear, rotor imbalance, blade-to-case contact, or loose internal components. The machine should be shut down to inspect bearing lubrication, tighten any loose parts, and, if necessary, replace damaged bearings or perform rotor balancing.

How should motor overheating be handled?

Causes of overheating include excessive load, poor ventilation, abnormal power supply voltage, and winding short circuits or ground faults. The load should be reduced, cooling passages should be cleaned, the voltage should be checked to ensure it is within the permissible range, and the winding insulation should be tested and any short-circuit points repaired.

What should you do if the motor current is too high?

This may be caused by excessive load, undervoltage, interturn short circuits in the windings, or rotor rubbing against the stator. The load should be reduced, the supply voltage adjusted, the windings inspected and repaired, or worn components replaced.
